Agency workspaces: now in early access
The agency plan just got a proper foundation. Client workspaces are live for early-access studios — each client gets their own session history, saved names, and export queue. No more digging through one giant history to find that name you generated for the fintech client three weeks ago.
NewClient workspaces: separate history, shelf, and settings per client project
NewBulk CSV export now available on Agency plan — full session history in one download
NewWhite-label report preview mode (PDF generation coming in May)
ImprovedAgency dashboard loads 60% faster after query optimisation
ImprovedTreat counter now shows real-time usage across all team seats
FixedTeam seat invite emails were landing in spam for some GSuite domains — fixed
Engine tuning: Ginger gets smarter
Ginger (our mid-range naming engine) went through a significant prompt revision this cycle. The names it produces are now more phonetically distinct from each other — you're less likely to get three names in a row that feel like variations of the same idea.
ImprovedGinger engine: inter-batch diversity improved by 31% (internal benchmark vs. 500 prompts)
ImprovedTabby engine: now explicitly filters portmanteaus unless the brief calls for them
ImprovedDead Serious vibe now returns names with stronger category anchoring
New.so and .is TLD availability checking now live on Founder+ plans
FixedVibe selector was occasionally resetting mid-session on Safari iOS — fixed
FixedName shelf was not persisting after session timeout — now saves to server before expiry
Piccolo, Ginger, Tabby — engine modes go public
We've had three distinct naming engines running internally for months. Piccolo is our fastest and most experimental. Ginger is the workhorse. Tabby is slower but produces names with more category fit. Founder+ users can now select which engine they want. Most of you should just let it pick — but if you know, you know.
NewEngine selector (Piccolo / Ginger / Tabby) now available on Founder+ plans
NewSession history now syncs across devices — start on desktop, continue on mobile
NewTreat top-up packs now purchasable without changing your plan (Small Bag: 10 treats / $5)
ImprovedVibe descriptions updated across all six vibes — much clearer about what each one actually produces
ImprovedMobile vibe selector now shows example names before you commit to a direction
Fixed"Too Cool to Rush" vibe was occasionally producing punchy names — addressed in engine prompt layer
Blog relaunch + editorial cover art
The blog existed. Now it looks like it was made by people who care about design. The cat generated its own cover art. We're not going to pretend that doesn't feel slightly unsettling.
NewBlog redesigned: editorial cover art, better typography, category filtering
NewAI-generated cover art for each post (the cat reviews and approves)
New"Naming" category: practical guides on how to name a SaaS, agency, app, restaurant
ImprovedBlog post reading time estimates now accurate (were wildly off)
ImprovedHelp center search now returns results from blog posts too
Auth migration: Clerk → Supabase
We moved our auth layer from Clerk to Supabase. For users: you log in with Google, everything else is the same. For us: one fewer external dependency, faster session handling, and proper row-level security on your naming history. This was a large internal change. You should notice nothing except that things are slightly faster.
ImprovedAuth is now handled entirely by Supabase — faster sign-in, fewer redirects
ImprovedSession cookies set more reliably on first visit (no more blank screen on /app after sign-in)
ImprovedMobile UX improvements: vibe select, session flow, and name shelf all work properly on small screens now
FixedA small % of users were seeing duplicate logo in the app header — removed
FixedAuth callback was occasionally failing for users signing in from mobile redirect flows — fixed
Pricing update: Founder plan moves to $49/mo
The first founder-friendly version was intentionally underpriced at $12/mo while we let founder friends and a few agency operators hammer on it. The feedback was annoyingly consistent: the names were better than the generic ChatGPT or Claude workflows they were using, and the time saved was worth much more. So Founder moved to a $49/mo list price. The mission stayed the same though: students, solo operators, and tiny brands should still have enough free runway to come up with a genuinely good name before they ever pay us.
NewFounder plan repriced to $49/mo (up from the early $12/mo test price) after founder feedback
NewFree tier stays at 5 sessions/month so students, solo founders, and tiny brands can still get unstuck
ImprovedPricing now maps more clearly to real usage: free for exploration, Founder for serious operators, Agency for client work and volume
ImprovedPricing page rewritten around value and workflow instead of feature soup
Very Online and Dead Serious vibes launch
We launched with four vibes. Two felt missing: the vibe for lowercase internet-native names (think patchly, forkit, nudgr) and the vibe for names that need to be in a Series A deck without anyone flinching. Both are live. The cat is pleased.
New"Very Online" vibe: internet-native, lowercase, made for the feed and the DM
New"Dead Serious" vibe: anchored, investor-ready, no apologies
NewCustom vibe text input now available on Founder+ plans
ImprovedVibe descriptions on the homepage updated to show real example names per vibe

🐱 Internal alphaFounder-friend alpha begins
The first version opened quietly to founder friends, operators, and a couple of agencies we trust. The core promise was already there: a naming tool that only shows you names you can actually register. Conversational. Opinionated. No dropdown checkbox theatre. And importantly, enough free usage that a student, one-person brand, or tiny business could still come up with something cool before ever thinking about paying.
NewPrivate alpha opens to founder friends and a small circle of agency collaborators
NewConversational naming interface: brief in, cat asks follow-ups, names come back fast
NewReal-time RDAP domain checking: every surfaced name is registrable at the moment you see it
NewFree plan launches with 5 naming sessions/month so smaller brands can explore without friction
NewFour starting vibes ship in alpha: Quiet Luxury, In Your Face, Wonderfully Odd, Surprise Me
New.com, .co, .xyz availability checking on day one
